A: Rose House Project

This project was a renovation model of the existing Rose house building in Kiama, Sydney. The main purpose of this design was to carry through a E.S.D scheme that would comply with the client's brief & environment. Including E.S.D (Environmental Sustainable Design) factors: Materials, Passive Cooling, Heating/Energy Efficiency, Climate Control, Surrounding Environment, Aesthetics & Water & Waste Management.

B. Magney House - Glenn Murcutt

This building is located in Bingie Point, Moruya, on the New South Wales South Coast, Australia & was designed in 1982-84. The project is aimed at capturing natural light, in this case the Magney House specifically captured the northern light using a long low roof and large windows to capitalize on natural sunlight. The design is cost effective due to the implications of E.S.D features including: An asymmetrical V-shape roof. The building collects rainwater, which is recycled for drinking and heating. Corrugated metal sheathing and interior brick walls insulate the home and conserve energy.

C. The Rivera - Santa Barbara by Shubin & Donaldson

The building is fairly small, but due to its aesthetic design, it conveys rather a larger span because of its 270 degree view of the surrounding environment & contains many details that impact with environmental sustainable design. Environmentally sustainable design features include passive solar electricity, solar water and floor heating, natural air flow and energy-efficient appliances.
